Ideas for a domain name...

I'm looking for ideas for this domain and some scripts that can handle it. My idea is to have content for myspace, facebook, forums and etc where the user creates a profile...avatars, sigs (like forum sigs), crap I don't know thats why I'm looking for ideas!

But I need a script that will allow me to organize it easily for the user and manage the content. I have the hosting all set up and whatever the script requires I can do it.

umm I'd say make it so that they can message each other and that, have a spot to show their msn, yahoo, and AIM mails and that, and possibly a spot for a picture of them, and then jsut have a section for their about them things and that such as hobbies, age, interests, location etc. I can't think of anything else other than what I mentuioned, hope I helped!

Any BB script like SMF, PHPBB - Free or vBulletin - Paid should give member profiles.

If you have the time and the inclination to do a pro job - I'ld recommend Joomla with Community Builder and Jim.

Personally, I wouldn't use Joomla! as it took me quite a while to figure out some things on it, and I still haven't fully figured out how to use it, I eventually just gave up on it.

Tough to learn initially (depends on your level of skill),
but what thing worth learning is not?

Been using it for over 4 years now and have 200+ sites on it,

I see an easy application for yourprofiles.com. You could be a HUB for a person where they list ALL their profiles for social sites including forums. It could be a handy tool. I wouldn't work on making it a blog site itself but concentrate first on being a hub and see how reaction is. If you can get 10k members...then you might want to open up your options.

Not sure how to develop it but I would make it where THIS is your profile.

So it would have the profile of the person (pic, name, age, etc.) but also have links to myspace, bebo, etc.

People could chat and do other stuff (so you are still kind of building a community of your own).

I am somewhat confused by your question, which isn't hard i'll admit

Your wanting to offer a package whereby a user can purchase/use these options and configure their own forum etc for each individual? Or did you mean have a forum and profile setup which was extremely customisable towards user content?

Why not look into phpbb hacks? I used to run forums where the users had quite a lot of options on their profile screen, took a little bit of getting used to but I don't regret the time spent and the feeling of building up a community around shared interests we had.

I agree with this, and I think there's great potential. There are so many sites where users can create profiles that you probably have friends on a few, but probably very few people have profiles on all of them. So, how do you find all of your friends' profiles so you know where you can go to catch up with them? Yourprofiles.com.

Create a way for people to place profiles from the most popular sites (myspace, facebook, even stumbleupon), then a generic forum one.

You could even create a networking aspect of it like LinkedIn, where you can follow "paths" of friends to find new ones, and see where they are online.

It's a good name and would require a lot of work. Find a partner.

The days of build it and they will come are long gone. Right now there are 500 zillion social networking sites who offer profiles. Big whooop. That's the last thing you want to do. What you want to do is offer your visitors something they could really use and that will make you a success.

The last thing someone needs is another MySpace page to keep up with.

Think of something that a person needs, that places like MySpace don't offer. If it's really cool then people will want to use it.

I think that someone else already posted this idea but it's a good one and worth looking into. Maybe offer a service that keeps track of all of their social networking profile pages. MySpace, YouTube, etc.

In short, just remember to profile your users things other places don't. Long story short, specialize and BE SPECIAL ... that is the true key to success for any website.
