Jumped on the bandwagon with a hyphen which is not a TM to my knowledge under the U.S TM office. Over 12 million on google and all other major extensions taken.

Thanks for thoughts,

Whether or not it poses any trademark issues is dependent upon your usage of the domain name. If you park it and have a bunch of links to Apple iPhone and products alike that could be confusingly similar to their mark, the hyphen will make little difference.

With that being writing, I don’t believe you have anything to worry about. Apple inc. has historically taken a “look the other way” approach to the hundreds (more) developed websites with their trademarks and registered trademarks included in the domain name.

It’s difficult to assess a value for various reasons but the name i-Phone.in is very appealing to the eye at first glance. I will, however, add that I don’t expect the iPhone to make an inroad in the country of India with its costly initial price tag and mandatory two year Cingular contract.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

I'd recommend doing some research on the usage of "i-pod" vs. "ipod". This way you can predict wether or not the dash is going to be a problem. Because as you might know, the name iPhone officially doesn't contain a dash.

My opinion:
If I look at the iPod it's a very interesting product, also for making money (see accessories, etc). I also some people write i-pod instead of ipod. So this will probably happen for the iPhone too.
However, I don't think .IN is a very good extension like explained above. Ofcourse you can still use it globally but in that case I think there are better .COM-names available. (*iPhone.com, iPhone*.com, or even *i-phone.com, i-phone*.com).

Looking at the name from a usability perspective I don't think it has a great value. I'm not sure about the SEO perspective since I don't know a lot about it, but I do think the SEO value will make or brake this domainname.
