I want to put a small video in the side column of the site without it getting pushed to the bottom by the center column's content and i'm not at all 1337 enough to accomplish this. If you think you can help me out, pm for the details.. quick $20 in this for the helper.. Thanks!

I don't have time to set you up fully but check out "float: left" (I think that's what you're asking about?). Maybe a link to the site in question would make it easier to understand what you want.

Yeah, it's set up as a liquid form with floats and percentages.. i just want to make sure it stays in the side column and maybe get the text in the center column to wrap for smaller browser windows. It's fine for 1024 and above, but not otherwise. I can't put the url here but I can pay 20 bucks.. Thanks for any help :)

I did a post on this concept while back but don't remember the title etc. I use this all the time and works quite well inside other divs, <p> <blockquote> etc etc. It will (as most valid css) screw up in IE on rare occasions - this can usually be cured by floating right instead of left.

You can also clear the area around by using margins. Most any content can be placed in the floated div.

This exact example of floating Google ads can be seen at www.robertspokerrules.com/proper-behavior about half way down on the left of the content area. A liquid design so feel free to resize etc.
Code:
<div style="float: left; margin-right: 20px;">
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
google_ad_width = 120;
google_ad_height = 600;
google_ad_format = "120x600_as";
google_ad_type = "text";
google_ad_channel = "";
google_color_border = "fffffa";
google_color_bg = "fffffa";
google_color_link = "993300";
google_color_text = "000000";
google_color_url = "993300";
//--></script><script type="text/javascript"
  src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script></div>
If this helps no $$$ desired but rep would be nice. I can/will help directly if necessary.
In the NP spirit!!!

Thanks hark. I figured out what I needed to fix were the margins, they were set to about 50px which are way too large if i want everything to work on a tiny <1024px screen.
