How would you market this?

Hello everyone,

I just made a brand new blog called My Daily Proxy as you can expect from the name everyday a bdrand new proxy well be posted. It's a way to stay one step ahead of the schools and offices.

It also has a mobile verison where users can text message us and have the proxy of the day texted to them.

I was just wundering where and how'd you guys would recommend marketing this site.

I have already started marketing to a few high school myspaces that i know of around me and all but it's such a large market and such i don't really know if it is the best way to go.

I am looking to as many things as i can but still any other suggestions or people willing 2 help.

why not contact the actual proxy sites youll have previously listed and ask them to spread words through their site?

or take any bigger brand sites and bit the bullet on some advertising with them..maybe even google adsense?


Ideally, you can ask sites in exchange for being linked from you to maintain a link to your service....its going to be hard to pull off as theyd essentially be directing traffic away from themselves, but depending on how your site is built and if archives etc are maintained, if users can do reviews, or anything like that, a linkbacks likelyhood is varied greatly.

Ill also agree with hitting myspaces/facebooks and so on. Good luck

Yea, considering doing some advertising but also comes down to a 15 year old only on a $40 budget per month on the site so, i want to try as many free ways to advertise at first.

But i have no plans to fall behind on the site i am working on it and trying to advertise it daily and its not just a side prodject this is more of my main and only prodject for a bit.

Just some pointers for your blogs : Blogging is a great way to promote your site or earn through ads and stuffs. Regular postings and "pinging" helps your site get indexed by search engines. Remember to provide your audience with informative and interesting contents for your niche. Always keep it fresh and updated. Pinging is essential after every update as this sends out signals to search engines' bots to go to your site so that the new contents gets indexed in the SE's lists. Goodluck!

go to local places where teens hang out and just put signs or hand out flyers explaining what your site does ... it is very common in my high school for this to happen and there is always a big buzz if the site is actually worth going to... text messaging the site it a very good idea and if you can advertise that to teens on myspace your site is sure to take off... remember grass roots marketing isn't just for pro sports teams
