You need an SSL enabled server or at least a host that has one. Most paid hosts will have this option available.

Well, they have the option of shared SSL. If you need SSL to your own domain, you should be one + installation.

You set them up the EXACT same way as you do a regular page. Is that any help? Or do you not know how to set up a regular page?

Everyone gets what you're saying, you're just ignoring the advice.

Try asking your host and problem solved right?. No ones going to be able to answer a question that only your host can. :)

They may not even support the option, hence the comments about you requiring an ssl enabled server/host which you ridiculously blew off as "no help" to you. And what you're trying to do in cPanel is trying to set up an SSL cert, and not an https page. SSL certs require a dedicated IP address. And again that was of no help to you either I guess. But you could solve the problem by asking your host. If they can't or won't answer you, then I guess you'll just have to move on or live with it right? :bingo:

If i could have ask the host i would but the main keyplayer or owner is having some personal issues so dont wana bug him and the support team really sucks so i rather not ask them i have although posted the same post i posted here on there support forums and no reply so i guess u understand what i mean by support sucks. So, why is there the SSL Option in cpanel and why i can generate the Private Keys (KEY), Certificate Signing Requests (CSR) . Certificates (CRT) . What are those options there for than? i getting dizzy now again.
:bah:

Those options are there for the soul purpose of making you dizzy. :D Actually they are a cPanel feature that allow you to do that basic part of generating the signing requests and junk because when you "buy" an SSL cert they'll require you to provide that information. And you still need to install the cert once everything is generated, again probably need to talk to your host.

Actually even with those options there you'd still need to obtain a dedicated IP address from your host in order to make it work. :snaphappy:

Trust me, if you can't figure out that on your own - you cannot setup SSL. Better pay someone to do the job and save yourself some time.

Shared SSL arent much apporved by most trusted autorities, so it aint much help to have one. Get a dedicated secure SSL certificate and ask your host to install them for you
On winservers, you get a seperate directory for ssl content if you have your ssl certificate.
Are you using win or linux servers?

You can generate your own certificate (don't recommend) OR purchase it for about $200 from Thawte or VeriSign.

If you have right to request for shared ssl, you will have an ssl link on cpanel home interface where you can generate a crt request and key
Then send an email to the host to install the certificate for you using their "whm" providing them with the key and other detials as is provided from cpanel
