How to retrieve a domain?

Hi,
i registered a domain (citricsquid.info) through a host a while back and the host went under a few months after. The domain is due for renewal soon, i believe, and i do not have access to it. A lot of my domain forwarders rely on it, is there a way to get it back? How can i find the registrar the host registered it through?

Because your domain is under privacy protection, it's might be hard to prove you are the owner of the domain without your original registrar(the hosting company)'s help. I lost some domains at RegisterFly for the same reason.

I'm going to go ahead and email them, i know the name of the company that registered it for me and the name of the person who will have it registered. I hope they believe me

stargate domain name business was bought by uk2.net (http://www.namepros.com/industry-news/381503-is-stargate-really-sold-uk2-net.html)
so, you might wanna contact them instead.
