How to get traffic to a directory?

I have a site www.backlinknow.com it doesn't get a lot of traffic. 500 uniques a month. What should I do to make it increase? Plus I don't get a lot of adsense clicks, which will help with more traffic.

You can ask those who will submit links into your directory to link back to you. You could also ask for affiliations with similar directories.

Yeah, something like wha momo suggested, offer higher positions for sites that provide a backlink, etc..

try to get some big directory lists to add your link...

Directories don't get traffic for atleast 6 months, it's like 800 a month till then. However after a 6 month period after people have linked you, you will noticed a large increase in traffic & adsense clicks...

Sit tight, i have made 6 directories it's the same everytime :hehe:

Not true, directories are much easier than any other sites to get traffic 'cause you give away links and it helps other for SEO. My new directories get over 1,000-2,000 visits in the second months. All you need is to get your directory listed on as many directory lists as you can.

i got alot of visits from them

i also added my directory in other directories (most have a category for drectories!)
and got it listed on many seo sites directory lists

creating a $20 press release at prweb.com got me alot of links...... or you can choose the free option

A good way to start is getting your directory on as many directory lists as you can. A few others methods of promotion which I would suggest are getting additional backlinks and advertising in forums.
