How do i block this person? his Ip always changes and he is using up alot of bandwidth (85mb+ of the 120mb bandwidth my site used this month)

65.19.150.246 1418 1418 27.46 MB 21 Jun 2005 - 16:04
65.19.169.246 1416 1416 27.44 MB 04 Jun 2005 - 22:07
65.19.150.249 1036 1036 20.39 MB 26 Jun 2005 - 08:30

(if im not allowed to post ips, please edit this, thanks)

As you can see he has almost the same ips, and all of his visits are 20mb+

so how would i ban this guy from coming back?

Do you have CPannel X?
If so then find 'Ip Deny Manager' then enter '65.19.100'

Simple method is to go round to his house and "neutralize" him bit steep though but always an option!

He's probobly using a program. Im not sure of the detials but i know there is a program out there that a user can set to go to your site and use alot of your bandwith in order to crash the site.

Also:

Open up your htaccess

Add this:
order allow,deny
deny from 65.19.*.*
allow from all

this will block every ip... that stars with 65.19 ;)

If you have full access (root) to the server and it's running FreeBSD, try ipfw. It allows CIDRs. If you go that route, ban 65.19.128.0/18.

You can also send an abuse complaint to the ISP that address is on -- Hurricane Electric. Try [email protected].
