It always goes deeper then sentimental attachment if there is more than one bidder.Lol..not all domain sales need to make sense folks, especially the random letters or numbers. Whilst most of these sales can be attributed to the Chinese market sometimes it's as simple as the domain name or combination of letters might mean something to the buyer personally, maybe even have sentimental value or whatever. Yes most people wont spent $4k on a domain merely just for sentimental value but it's all relative... most people won't spend $50 000 on a wrist watch yet many people do. It's relative to their earnings, someone earning $10 million per year wouldnt be too phased dropping $4k on a domain name that has sentimental value... someone earning $100k per year might have an issue with it.
