domain How much would a profitable site be worth?

I'm just curious...

I have a site that's 8 months old, which has made an average of $600 per month (about $750 the past 5 months).

The site averages about 1500 uniques a day and has a PR4. It's a website for iPod Touches (playtouchgames.com if you need to know).

If I were to sell it today, how much would it be worth?

For this domain I'd say 12x monthly revenue would be a good multiple.

Touch is getting more popular though with time, hang onto it.

I don't understand this 12 X monthly revenue thing that keeps getting quoted in threads like this.

Surely if a site is showing those profits fairly steadily (as this one seems to be), why would anyone sell it for just 12 months future profits?? And why would nobody consider buying it for at least 36 months+ future profits??

I would have thought that there are a huge amount of variables involved. If 'touch is getting more popular' surely any half-clued up webmaster could buy that site and be reasonably expected to get much more than 12 months exisiting profit out of it?

I read recently about AdultFriendFinder.com being sold for $1 billion and lots of people were perplexed as it being only worth $1 billion when it apparently makes $300,000 a year. (i.e the 40 X monthly profit valuation being way too low). Ok. a site like that has a massive 'Brand' value that any little site won't have, but I can also understand that buying any adult site carries speculative risks (possible exisiting shady buisness practices, future anti-porn legislation). Which is presumably why AFF went for only 40xMonthly. Non adult sites don't carry those risks, and as a rule should be worth more than 12X monthly profit.

One years stats are the min required for sale on profits. I doubt if this has more. I'm assuming of course that $750 profit per month has no costs viz advertising.

Its a 3 word .com, without revenue reseller value would be $20 or so, even with 'touch' in it, how many domains are available in 3 word format with 'touch'?
