How much to charge for monthly domain rental?

I have a customer who is interested in one of my domains, but wants to pay monthly rent instead of a one-off price price.

I am wondering how much to charge him? Let's say the domain has a BIN price of $1000, how much should I charge him monthly? I was thinking about something in $50-$100 range, what do you think?

if the BIN is only $1,000 and they only want to rent....question is:

for how long?


is this an open-end rent, with no ending date?

or rent for fixed period, then they move on

or rent to buy or lease to own, where payments go towards purchase of the domain.


also, does the domain currently earn any income, have traffic, etc.?
