I have participated in a NJ auction for Goodle.com few days ago. I gave up since I don't have much experience for traffic domains. The final price was raised up to $40200.
Still, I am very curious, Is it really worth that much ? Any input will be appreciated.

It's a typo domain of Google.com and by looking it's traffic, it clearly shows the domain receives at least 500 UV's daily which is not bad but the price it was sold seems to be quite high. Although it depends on the end-user what he is going to make. If he simply parks the domain, then investing 40k is a bad idea for this domain IMO.

Not in my opinion, people who made a typo will straight away realise their mistake. At current PPC rates you would most likely be long dead before you saw a return on the domain. My guess is Google bought it.

My budget for it was around $10000 -12000. But the final price was far beyond my expectation. During the auction, I have seen 4-5 people were willing to pay more than $35,000. Also, on whois.sc, goodle.com's compete rank raised from 9000 to 14000 visits per day since the auction ended. Is it possible that something I missed here? BTW, is “compete rank” accurate ?

Hm...From the current whois record, it's not like Google brough it back. Besides, it's parked on Fabulous now.

I was looking at the NJ auction (but didn't bid) and it just seem ridiculous how high this TM typo ends. It is indeed a good typo for doodle or google. Just not sure if the traffic really makes it worth $40k...

similar domains expiring every month, it's a bit crazy to buy them for such a crazy prices. Spend this amount for better quality names.

With that kind of money you would be better of picking up a nice LLL.com while they are on the cheap, rather than messing with a name with potential TM issues imho.

The name has no obvious use other than a typo of Google. Why pay money for a name that in the end will only get the attention of Google's legal team. It is not worth investing in or fighting for.
