Hello,

I have a game server and it is ranked in the top 50 in gametracker.com. It is full for 12+ hours a day and sometimes the game server goes one full week without getting empty people stay gaming around the clock.

I want to charge for placing a text add that rotates every 12 minutes. The ad will show in the text chat area in the game. I have made a red box to show the position where the text ad is going to be displayed.

I'm guessing this game server gets around 2,000+ connections a day. I have seen people connected to this game server for 8+ hours playing.

Can someone give me an idea on how much i can charge for the displaying the text advert?

Have you seen this type of thing being done at any of your competitor's websites ? If so then their rates could give your a pretty good idea of what to charge. I would think the $ value would depend on a lot of the demographics of the players. Do you have any of that data available ?

Thank YOU! for the reply netzilla,

I don't think this has been done before. :( The server is located in Chicago. I'm sure that people from the us and canada are visiting the server. I have a ping limit set at 200 so if anyone that is farther away will be kicked.

Well in that case you need to establish a base line somehow. Maybe run a "free-for-a-month" ad program for people her at NP. Then you can take those metrics and present them to your advertisers to justify your price.

Thanks Netzilla,

I'm going to experiment with it and see how it goes.
