How long until avaliable for registeration?

I'm waiting for a domain that's expiration date was on January 1st to be avaliable for register.

About how long does it take until it is avaliable for register by the public?

well it should be able to be registered by January 2 unless someone already registered it before you or unless the person who owned it renewed it

Hmmm... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that the expiration date is when domain names start the Expired-RedemptionPeriod-PendingDelete process, which has a duration of ~ 75 days. So, if the expiration date is set for January 1st, the domain should be available ~ March 15th (that is if my math didn't fail me :p )
