How is it possible?

I am tracking a domain name since days.
I back ordered it because i know that it will be dropped.
(I made my small investigation)
Anyway i received today a report that some change were done to the whois record when it is supposed to be impossible !!!
First of all,
The technical contact have changed !!!!
It is definitivly impossible !!!!
Something were also added to the Administrative contact:
A fax number as follow:
fax: 999 999 9999.
For me it seems that someone checks if he is able to change the admin infos.
At last and nonetheless, the records date have been changed and i wonder how that is possible.
From:
Record expires on 19-Aug-2003.
Record created on 18-Aug-1995.
They become:
Record expires on 17-Aug-2003.
Record created on 15-Aug-2002.
????
What's the meaning of all that?

Registries have glitches with the creation date that is reported to the whois sometimes. I've noticed this with Network Solutions domains before.

Yeah but this one can't be last year created.
