Yesterday my brother-in-law came to visit and told me about the company Robinhood. Robinhood is a free stock trading mobile app (soon adding a web app also) that as an introductory offer is giving away one Free Stock to get you hooked up in stock investments. The first one is on the house.
Not only that; but they do not charge buy/sell transactions as most i(f not all of them) do.
The are legitimate disruptors of the stock market. Just like airbnb is the hotel industries with Google Ventures as one of their investors they are here to stay for a good while. You can do your own research.
I want to share my code for 1 Free Stock -in case you want to give me credit for letting you know.
I have to say though that I hesitated when they asked me for address and social number for obvious reasons but my brother-in-law trades stocks in two other places and he told me that they always ask for that info because is like creating a bank account. To be honest if he doesn't tell me that I would've back out right there.
I got a $3.81 ZYNGA stock; and he got a Microsoft stock valued yesterday at $90. They give you like three options in a scratch off fashion and that's what I chose. After that I invited my wife and this morning she got a Sprint stock valued at $4.95 at the time.
So I wanted to share just in case you wanted to try it.
