How high will the buyer jump when he finds out about the renewal is the real question. :sold:

I don't thing that renewal is a problem for the owner that will develop on this domain. Bad.TV is one of the premium domains that have big value and small renewal.

Renewal is only 1000$.

If the sale concludes, how do you know the owner will develop it - you dont! You have made absolutely no mention of the Premium Renewal price for this domain or any of the others you have on Sedo.

To say that Renewal is "only $1000" is quite frankly insulting IMO and is dismissive of what is a substantial sum. It is not a small renewal fee at all.

You have not made full disclosure to potential buyers - that is a fact. Any buyer that wins would be fully entitled to withdraw and not conclude the transaction IMO.

I don't think that Bad.tv is all that great of a name to begin with. If I am going to pay a premium, I would go for something positive, or a media niche. I suppose one could try to work it as a brand, some grunge-like teenager focussed site, but still, there are easier keywords to work with, IMO.

If the domain owner of bad.com read these comments I am sure he would laught...

Bad.com (Also ugly domain in com) has been appraised over 380.000$ and in the last live auction in Traffic it was listed for 500.000$!

In the domain business as you know when you buy or sell who have to search before. Morever the renewal price isn't a secret to hide. I have already been asked from 3 bidders in Sedo auction and I have answer honestly.

Come on guys we are talking about a .TV domain that all it needs is to be easy to type, and remember. Here in Greece we have www.mad.TV which is one of the biggest channel networks in Europe

TV domains in my opinion should be bought only if there ment to be developed! This is the opportunity to make money... Not just park them and get nothing/month.

.TV industry is about to explode. Belive me if I didn't need cash I wouldn't sell this domain. (I have already developed the streaming portal www.kanalia.tv)

There are many buyers who prefer to "buy and hold" for a few years. Just imagine what this domain will be worth after .TV becomes a household name.

The potential buyer deserves to understand the premium renewal rate so he can calculate those costs into his buying strategy. For example, if the domain sells for $5,000, the buyer needs to add another $5,000 to his budget for a 5-year hold strategy.

The fact is that most sellers of premium .TV names on Sedo list the renewal rate in the auction description to prevent any misunderstanding and to insure a smooth transaction.

Omitting this information from the auction description is misleading. IMO.

The name might very well be worth a lot of money. That is an irrelevant point.

If you are not listing the renewal fee in your listing, you should be. The buyer has to decide if the $1,000 is meaningful to him or not. You can't just assume that it is not.

I think this is about as clear as day.

Thanks,

Antonis

I think the purpose of sedo's description field is for mentioning the extra information such as premium fee, and other details related to the domain name. Omitting to mention the renewal fee is nothing but cheating the buyer. The buyer can take legal action against the seller even after the sale is over.

Um.. who in their right mind would NOT be EXTREMELY ANGRY if they found out after making a deal that the renewal price is 1000 dollars a year?

I'm in complete agreement with everyone that is saying you must disclose the renewal rate. To do otherwise is simply unethical. Personally, I would be livid to find out (afterwards) that a name I won in auction was a $1,000 a year.

Did it sell for $500,000? Did it sell for $380,000?

If it did, great. But as for .TV, what I am saying is, there are a LOT and by LOT I mean zillions, of names better than Bad.tv to focus on. Sure, the buyer might make a ton of money after developing, I am not arguing that. I'm just saying there are easier ways to be successful.

It is quite possible to swim upstream. Using that same energy to swim downstream will get you further, faster.

You need to list the renewal fee's, you are actually hurting other .tv investors as it is not bringing enough transparency to the extension.

Alot of confusion on .tv renewal fee's, you should disclose all info.

If you do not put the renewal fee information in your Bad.TV listing, as the name suggests, it will create a bad impression on the entire .tv community. :alien:

IMHO...

HUCKOUR obviously had the opportunity to include the renewal info on the auction page. Each of HUCKOUR's listings has plenty of extra info added (i.e. more domains, stats, figures, etc) and yet HUCKOUR neglected to include the renewal rates? was it done deliberately? Did HUCKOUR simply forget or think is was not important? BS. Sad, I actually feel sad for some of the bidders and I don't blame any of them if they back out of the deal. I've actually lost all respect for HUCKOUR and won't be bidding on any of their names or doing any business with this NP'er. IMHO, gross negligence... unprofessional.

It's one thing if the buyer is aware... but sellers like HUCKOUR can truly hurt the .TV aftermarket... no wonder most auction houses don't want to bother with listing .TVs

Why are you all attacking to me?

I am not Demand Media! I am not the one that decide to give high renewal prices and destroy the .TV industry.

I am just an ambisious person who believe in the .TV industry and I always try to expand this idea. I have spend all my money as I said before in order to develope this web 2.0 TV portal that is mainly dedicated in Web TV and .TV sites. (www.kanalia.tv)

Accept my apologies if you believe that by not posting the renewal price I trick the future buyers. I remind you that your complains should be targeting Demand Media that makes these high renewals. As a small budget business man I have already bought 46 .TV but manage to develope only the 1 of them. The cash need made me to sell my other premiums.

Please don't judge me show hard. I respect all of you here and I strongly believe that namepros and np's members help the .TV industry to expand.

Regards to all.

George
