I have set up a re-direct to go from main index page to a back directory where i have my CMS system.

Now the redirect has meta tags and brings them over to my CMS

How does that effect Search engines?

Will the follow the link?

thanks

I don't think that the redirect will work with search engines, but here is one thing you can do.

On the page for the redirect also put a link to the page saying "Click here if browser doesn't support redirects". It sounds professional and then the search engines will follow it.

Wrong:

Simple redirects are indexed as individuals this I can prove

0th.net is a redirect
jukk.net is a redirect

both as well as many others are independantly indexed on both google and Yahoo engines

Do a search for Fallsview resorts and see what you get

I believe that the shorter the url is that is a redirect to your site, the better placement it will recieve, as you can see by 0th its onle a redirect but is plcaed higher in search results than the page it actually redirects too/

Thats your tip of the day
