Hi,

if you go to digg.com, on their main page, on top, you will see the google adsense ads.

its totally different than the ones you can create in your adsense account.

even if you look at the source code, its not the common source code of the ads we use.

how come they are doing this? are they under a different agreement with google?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

but as we all know, adsense clearly states that we cant change/modify other than colors and the normal settings we can change

This is just a guess but because Google does have special programs for sites that have a large amount of traffic, for digg this must be one of the things they have a separate arrangement for (and likely with other high-traffic sites).

Like nicholas said, digg is a premium adsense publisher, which means they get special taylored layouts from Google themselves.

Why not? I have seen other sites that do not even have "Ads by Google" tag but the textlink ads are from Google. Check this example link:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=advertisement

The advertisement (under "Advertisement" tag) at the right sidebar is from google. Take a look at the source code, the embedded script is from googleadservices.com.

Do a whois on googleadservices.com, you can see that it belong to Google Inc.

So, if you have the traffic,... even Google will bend the rules to suit you.... :) ....

I thought they become premium when they earn at least $10k or $100k. It was either one or the other.
