How can I confirm a buyer identity?

Let's say - for example - that i've got the domain NintendoDS.com.

I receive an e-mail signed "Nintendo corp." saying that if i want they could give me 1000 $ for the domain; otherwise they'll take it with strong manners because it's a TM.

Well, at this point how can i know that they are really the Nintendo corp. and not someone else that want my domain for 1000$?

Have you experienced something similar?

Thanks.

Get them to give you their phone number and see if there is a telephone number that matches that on the website.

Ask for identity "proof"

Fax copy of some acceptable legal documents such as their business document/s, certificates, registration, tax papers, etc...Ask for their complete address, phone nr etc..

Can you check the IP address from the headers and/or footers of the email? If
you can get that from that email, you can also trace it at dnsstuff.com's WHOIS
lookup.

Also, does that email give a specific name, title/position, and phone number to
confirm such?

Give them a call yourself and ask whoever answers the phone to transfer you to their internet department or something like that because you're calling on business. They should transfer you, from there you can talk to someone about it.
