HostingDirectory

Not sure how somebody missed this but I just picked up HostingDirectory.org. Apparently it dropped on 3-25-2004.

All other major extensions are taken and there are 945,000 Google results for "hosting directory".

The .org should work since its only a directory.

Pretty Good, but, IMO, not on the same level w/ some of your other recent pick-ups. First, "directory" doesn't jump out as working the best w/ .org for me (although familiarity w/ .org might balance this out). Secondly, although the occurance of the.keyword term is high, searches for the term are not high. On OV: 8154 web hosting directory, 293 directory hosting are the top terms searches, w/ no exact matches for "hosting directory.

Based on keyword stength, $35-$60 whse.

Good points, but the strength of this one over some of my other names recently is use. Do you know how many hosts are out there and how big hosting directories are now? People may not search for hosting directories but they do search for hosting :).

Id have to give it a high xx to low xxx wholesale value. the keywords are there as pointed out. I think the extension does fit perfectly (though i still would love the .com as on anything) because if its a free directory people come and look to see who is the best host for their needs etc.. its a non profit organization helping ppl.

Hosting is a huge thing and with the amount of different hosts there are im sure you wont have trouble filling up slots at all. Id say this is a great pickup indeed.

I checked out a couple of things and will backtrack go w/ low xxx's on this one. Franl;y, I projected my own method of searching onto the name and didn't realize the clout that "directory" has as a search term. I am more apt to use something more specific (ie "comparison", "ratings", "reviews"), terms which, although more in line w/ my needs, have about 1/10th-1/20th the frequency of usage as does directory. Also, my personal choice (after.com) would be .Info which may have a stronger future for this type of site, but hasn't totally arrived yet. I stand corrected and have gotten a little more in touch w/ info searching habits in the process.

Excellent job, Grrilla. I have seen very few appraisers do that on any forum. Thanks for the extra research on this one :).

I agree on the .info too. After .com and .org, .info is my favorite extension.
