the big problem with hyphens today is with all the new tld's you got nice terms for reg fees so why use a hyphen
Other than in your delusional world, hyphens have always killed the name for the most part. The new tld's that no one cares about have nothing to do with it.
Really so all those big companies that used hyphens years ago didn't happen
haha
In my world I have a long memory and I remember a time when CEO's used to say get both and use the hyphen we don't want to confuse the public
We actually still have a few developed hyphens in our network and they make us a ton of dough
So a newspaper that most people outside of Florida don't read and probably don't know about and a dictionary company...not exactly what I would consider the best examples. So again, 99% of large companies don't use and don't want hyphens in their domain name...regardless of the new extensions.
What I said was in the early days of the net, a lot of larger companies with 2 words in their brand did use hyphens and these are just a couple of sites I still use that still do it.
What did I say HYPHENS are now soft yet back in the day they had some value.
So you can so vividly remember all these companies using hyphens and all their marketing and advertising, but you draw a blank when it comes to remembering the companies...right.
And you seriously cite the silliest of things. Like I'm going to really trust what some domain seller has to say about the new extensions...of course they are going to say good things, because they want to sell them! There are literally TONS of articles about how many of the new extensions are essentially failing and that very few companies are legitimately using them. But of course you only read and believe what you want.
My appraisal stands, hyphens are not popular today and in the early days of the net they were used more.
Actually, the reason this debate got started is because you stated that hyphens are no longer popular because of all the new extensions...which is not true and I corrected you. You seem to think these new extensions are the holy grail, but they're not. Speaking of which, how goes the .LTD sales? Are they still banging down your door? lol
Sure we'll look at offers and we are getting them but in reality there's way too much value in them to not develop.
Funny how you are getting offers, but all those .LTD's on Sedo aren't selling at all. You must just have some magic ora that surrounds you. I saw you talking about marijuana domains in the other thread...I think you've been using something a bit stronger than that though.
What part of they are now in development don't you get?
Sure they're listed but unless it's a heavy number, they're not gonna be sold.
