I wanted to make a site somehow relating to the high cost of putting your kids through hockey. Somehow using revenue to pay for ice time/reduced registration costs/equipment in arena's across the country.

Hockey enthusiasts, NHL

3. Research:
None really, i researched how much it cost to bring a kid to the NHL level. Hundreds of thousands of dollars for kids to play in elite leagues and training. Even just regular leagues the cost is over a thousand dollars for registration and equipment each year.

4. End-User Value: 5. Reseller Value:
I would still like to turn it into something one day as a career but if i could sell the name and make some good money on it i wouldn't object to that.

6. Traffic:
None, i've never fully developed the site. Played around with website building but never completed anything where i could open it to the public.

7. Revenue:
None

8. Age:
2 years old

9. Miscellaneous:
Shortly after i had purchased the name i did a google search to see if and where it might pop up in search results. Right away saw that the NHL has a Hockey Is For Everyone program.

Unless you are playing with fire with potentially trademarked phrase, what prevents me from registering hockeyisforeverybody.com? In what way your domain is better than footballisforeveryone.com (it's available)?

Nothing prevents you from registering that name.

My domain isn't any better than footballisforeveryone.com, the only difference is that they reference different sports.. You aren't going to have a hockey website with football as the name....

I have already received an email from a marketing firm asking about my willingness to sell my domain name. They sought me out and want to buy it. It's not a matter of if i could sell this domain, it's a matter that someone wants it and i need to put a price on it. I'm not giving it up for chump change, i'd rather just keep it and either wait some more or use it for myself in the future.

It's way to long to be used for anything marketing campaign. Hockey is larger in Canada, they have the .ca extension, but good luck.

It's not a matter of if i could sell this domain, it's a matter that someone wants it and i need to put a price on it. I'm not giving it up for chump change, i'd rather just keep it and either wait some more or use it for myself in the future.

(1) You have to make a decision, whether you are going to respond to the offer and try to sell it (and move onto buying a another domain)

(2) Keep the domain and hope you get another offer.

(3) Keep the domain, put some money into it and develop and try sell it as a complete website.

Okay, you got lucky and had a offer on the name. Why didn't you respond with a reasonable price?

Pretty sure that the "is for" are "stop words" (search engines basically ignore them)

I can’t tell you how many years Richard has owned hockey.com for, still hasn’t moved it, obviously he wants the nhl, but they don’t want to pay up, so it sits parked at Uniregistry.

I have replied with an amount and now i play the waiting game. I'm not selling it for hundreds i'll just hold onto it. I don't believe i infringed on the NHL's trademark and have not acted in "bad faith" so i think i'm clear there. I'll wait and hold out for more or i'll just use it myself.

4 figures is a good deal, if it were me I would accept, and invest in a stronger keyword, you can get good hockey names for pretty cheap.
