High Tech Toys, Inc. is my family's business we opened in 1991. We tried to set up a website for the store, but rarely found any use for it as our business is just a local, small town, family owned business. We have been looking to sell the domain, but have absolutely no idea what kind of a price tag to put on the name. After reading around on this site I figured posting here would be a good place to start.

Thank you for your time.

Any ideas? Just trying to get an idea. Not exactly sure on how to sell this, but figured just getting a price range would be a good start.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
That's a nice name there, you lucked out in regging it and keeping it all these years.
I'm going to appraise it as a name without traffic/income stats since you're not providing those (you probably haven't paid attention to all that, right?). First thing to do is get that page parked with someone (like Sedo.com, parked.com, etc... you can read about parking programs in that area of this forum, it's very easy to park a page and only takes a few minutes to sign up for a free account with some parking host).

Very useable, common term, it has obvious use, versatility, and value. It will get some natural traffic which is why you should try parking it for awhile, parking income will increase the selling value of a name.

I think a reseller (a person who buys domain names for the purpose of reselling them for profit) would pay in the $4,000 - 6K range for this one, maybe slightly higher.
I feel an end user (the 'final user' of a domain name, someone who wants to invest and develop a site around it for long-term, usually a business) would pay in the xx,xxx area, maybe the 10K - 25K zone. That might be a little high, but I'd be optimistic because it's a name that would attract buyers from very large industries for whom that kind of cash is a drop in the bucket.

Nice one. Check out the other areas at Namepros and learn a few things for a month or two, before even thinking of selling it. A name like this would do well at a well-publicized auction. You'll get more advice from other domainers if you ask for it.
Good luck :)

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. We will look into the whole parking deal I think. Not exactly a must sale situation, we just want to get the most out of the name that we could.
