Hi @biggie thanks for commenting, i see you must like .com more then .io because of their high reg fee.

But that doesn't really help me.

I would like that you and other domainer's would appraise my domain highdefinition.io

If it's worth xx$ xxx$ or xxxx$ and your feedback about what you think of the domain.

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Hi McCloud,

My best estimate is that on Flippa you could receive low $xxx. I sold a few io's on Flippa and like to follow the trend there. I really dont think Flippa is a good place to sell anything else except premium one word domains (including io).

I base this on the following:

premiumdomains.io - $60
webcrawl.io - $55
foundations.io - $35
cabinet.io - no bids
domainhosting.io - $100
frases.io - $30
anl.io - $16

I can go on but you get the idea.

Let me know if you have success, maybe we should try selling elsewhere.

Regards
Pierre

Hi @Pierre Barnard, thanks for your feedback.

I agrre with you, flippa has a good trend for .io but even if you have a 1 word premium .io domain is hard to sell for xxxx$ at flippa it usually goes for xx$ or xxx$ you only sell for good amounts if you have good feedback and good amount of $ in transactions or if you have a broker and if your one the editors choice.

I say this because webcrawl.io frases.io foundations.io and others where mine and i was the one that sold them but couldnยดt sell them for a good amount and they are worth good amount believe me.

I have onlinecourses.io in auction right now on flippa and it already sold for 295$ in the past at flippa let's see if i can reach that amount.

My only problem is that I'm new at sedo and find the platform a little confusing, and to put .io in auction sedo ask's for a high price just put up a listing and flippa just ask's for 9$.

Do you have success selling .io on sedo with make offer option??

Keep giving me more feedback and appraisal's it would appreciate it.

Thanks

Best Regards

Hi Mcloud, yes, I recognise your name from Flippa! I watch your auctions regularly.

Yes, it has been a struggle. With my last auction on Flippa, I added the extra ($49 I think) for home page listing etc...I was really dissapointed. Not worth the money. I ended up selling the pronounceable 4L .io for $50.

I have never started an auction on Sedo. I know that is the place to list it, but I simply do not have $59 to spare "incase" it gets sold.

I have also tried BIDO, but their system for voting to get an auction is tedious.

What other options do we have?

Reg fee, worth even less if you waste your money upgrading like member above.
High renewals, stupid extension. Never see any of these new extensions advertised or promoted in any way.
Another member and i were pming. He is having a hard time selling one word .io
You wont get nothing here , investors want to buy x dollars and flippa, to many horror stories, I wont even waste my time visiting their site.

Options, try selling to end users
anl.io $16 .lol

No selfies here :-P

They seem to close a lot of accounts.

And they keep sending me emails for my search "420 names" yet all the names in their email have Okanagan, not 420

According to your above post an upgrade only creates a profit of $1( minus reg fee's)

.net .io .xyz .top .info .uno .horse .crap

All same sh!t, just different piles

Maybe try ebay, most normal people ( end users) have heard of them

But most normal people haven't heard of .io :xf.confused:

On a more positive note, I did sell ani.io for $190 and only paid the $9. Still, it really made no sense to me thus far to list on Flippa. I know Sedo would be the better choice, its just the $59 fee.

$16 bucks for a country name, is your name better than that?

Renewals are scary, I just did another transfer/renew .com for $1.39 cdn
at .io prices, and some moving registrars around, the same $30 renewal fee of .io I can keep my .com alive for 10-15 years, and the best thing is its.com

It's obvious people are having a hard time moving .io , maybe find another extension

It is nice 2 keywords, maybe you will get a golden offer, and show us how we are all wrong. Truly hope so

Good for you Pierre, there is money to be made. Are you at profit or loss for .io? All purchase, investments and sales?

@MasterOfMyDomains Definite loss on .io at the moment. As you mentioned, reg fee is also crazy. Unless you own something like sell.io OR traffic.io it really doesnt make much sense ATM.

thanks guys for all your feedback.

I agree that .io extension and flippa aren't the best option.

But i like the flippa platform they have a easy to use platform, flippa escrow for free witch is a big plus and they have great support.

The down's of flippa his that they have high fees for you to advertise your domains.

The .io extension isn't the best because of high reg and renew fees, also they just appeal to limited end of users. Even with all this problems i like .io extension there are great words and 3 letters you just have to advertise to right people.

More feedback and appraisal's are appreciated.

Nooooo, never use eBay for selling domain names, since PayPal wouldn't give the seller any kind of protection, and a buyer can always ask for a refund claiming the domain hasn't been received.

Trust me, avoid eBay for selling domain names directly.

Paypal doesnt offer any protection. Buyer can always ask for a refund claiming no domain received.

We have reached the point unless you know the person, some form of escrow is required.

Still doesn't increase the value of .io domain though, profit goes down
