High-end Web Development Companies?

Hi

So I have an idea for a website, and I want to turn it into reality. Do you know of any professional, high-end web developing companies that I should contact?

I am looking for the best of the best...like if Facebook or MySpace or Youtube didn't exist yet, and someone was looking for a company to develop them, what companies would be qualified?

Hi Brendan,

Since you've already done the creative part and have an idea, I would advise you to look for a company specializing in IT consultancy (e.g. Accenture). Depending on the project, this would cost you a whole lot of money, but you would get a customized solution designed specifically for your requirements.

A company doing webdesign exclusively could probably do the same job for less, but if you're up to a big project and have a large budget I would go for a company who have been involved in large projects in the past.

I've been working for both type of companies and the way they develop websites is completely different. Your local webdesign company would probably be very creative and have a lot of ideas, but you need to test these ideas in real-life scenarios and make sure the technology works, and that's what cost money.

The implementation itself doesn't take that long, but phases like requirement specification, design, testing and evaluation are crucial for a good product, and applies to a website as well.
