Hi everyone, i'm glad to have found this forum! I'm Gary. I live in western Massachusetts (USA), and I'm brand new to the domain game and just getting my feet wet. So far I've been racking my brain using the Godaddy appraiser and buying a few domains. I would like to try both targeting local businesses directly as well as throwing some random ones I bought up for sale.

Hello Gary, and thanks for the nice introduction. If you'll take some time to read through the threads here, you'll find tips and ideas about listing and selling your domains. One caveat: Don't expect instant wealth. Domaining is a lot of fun, but it's generally a slow process.

Thanks, I think I've tried enough business ideas that I have no delusions of grandeur left. Hopefully. Just looking for a fun thing to try and make some ROI after some effort.

While I've most definitely seen far worse domains from new investors, you're are in a category of what I'd say are "almost but not quite" .. meaning that they aren't anything to be ashamed of at all as a starter domainer .. but I think you're going to have a hard time selling them to end users.

The good news is that you've only bought a few .. and as I said .. as a first batch of domains, they show you at least have a bit of an idea. Definitely take some time to get as much information as possible before spending too much more.

Montreal is not too far. I am up in northern VT a lot for work which isn't too far at all. "almost but not quite", I will take that for now. Thanks for the feedback! I keep trying to not buy anymore but two impulse buys today were:

Now I have about 9, that should hopefully hold me over.

I'm trying to learn a bit about SEO and web design so that if some of them sit for a while (i'm sure they will) I can at least play around with that aspect.
