Hello @dotcommer .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

Theoretically acronyms could stand for anything .. but in this case it's likely "Elite Eight" could be a trademark. More importantly, any judge or UDRP panellist would very likely see the domain as a whole and infer you're trying to profit from the NCAA trademark.

Definitely stop buying such domains .. I could go into further details, but the information is all over NamePros multiple times over. Do a search for "Trademarks" and "UDRP" and then start reading (make sure you have a LOT of time ahead of you .. lol).

Here are some of my posts on the subject if you're interested ...

Welcome onboard @dotcommer !

If you’re a newbie, this is my advice:

There will need to be a demand for that certain name for it to be sold. To become a successful and profitable domainer, you’ll need to learn which domains that will have a chance to meet this demand. In other words, you’ll need sit down and learn. It will take some time. NamePros is a perfect start.

Best of luck!
