I am looking at trading a name with someone. Is there like an escrow service used for swapping names, or can you just use the normal escrow service.

There is no cash involved, just swapping one of his domains for one of mine.

I've just never swapped names before, thats all.

Thanks

No money in it for the escrow company so I doubt anyone taking that transaction. I would ask the person to push the domain to someone like RJ and you do the same and let him push the domains to each. I only say RJ I am not volunteering him but if he ok I would ask him as he one of the few in the industry who has the trust of the whole community. Again IMO

this swap will work perfect if both domains are here on namepros.

The only problem could be is the other party is not a namepros member, and will probably trust RJ as much as he trusts me. I emailed this guy out the blue and asked him if the name was for sale and he said "NO" and then I told him I had some names, he may be interested in a swap, and now he seems quite keen.

Anyway, I will email him to find out.

Unfortunately, neither of the names are at namepros

Thanks

Giles,

There is no "Escrow" service for what your trying to do. Since you contacted him, you might consider going out on the limb and transferring your domain first. Yes, it requires a bit of faith, but I think a simple phone call might soothe the discomfort.

I think in the global financial situation, this may become a little more popular/common. I think people feel a little better when they arent parting with "cash"

Thanks Justin, I trust the guy (always a small chance to find the wrong guy??) as I contacted him, Im just wondering what he is thinking about me. I am happy to take the chance and push my name first and then he can push his once he has received it.
