Help with uploading

How can I make it so that people can upload only to one folder and it's sub-folders on my site? I want to create a archive that people can upload their maps and stuff to for a game but I am new to this archive\upload system.

i was actualy wondering the same thing. i think it has something to do with ftp permissions but i havent needed to do it just yet and havent had time to figure it out.

I think a Image Hosting script would let you do that

Well I am not sure what would work the best. FTP style uploading or Image style uploading.

personally think you would be better off with a http upload giving people access to ftp can be a bad idea.

CPanel has the capability to allow people to setup sub-domains with seperate FTP access. It is safe and harmless to the main domain. However I know very little about making it work at all.

Well I found some good upload scripts but now I have lost all access to my account through FTP and CPanel.

not necessarily, what would stop them uploading a php script then executing it via http?
