Help regarding some domains

i was looking at the following list of expired domains.. http://alldrops.com/html3_droplist_20070105074537.asp

they all seem to be pretty good.. i have shortlisted a few such as www.fifarank.com, www.visaprojects.com etc.. (i know somebody will register them probably till i recieve the answr to this thread)

i dont want to develop any of these.. but am just interested in selling them to make some small profits..

are they of any value?? (will i be able to recover my registerations cost atleast if i register them.. because i dont want LOSSEs in this early stage.. NO PROFIT no loss is still fine with me

If you're unsure about a domain, I suggest registering it at a registrar that allows you to delete domains. Register it and then go to the appraisal section. If the overall response is positive, keep it! If you are told its worth reg fee, delete the name and get a refund! This prevents people from taking your names and you have nothing to lose!

I use Moniker which allows you to delete names, but it credits your account, it doesn't refund your money. Look around, I'm sure you'll find a registrar that refunds your PayPal account. (Or whatever you use to pay.)

The only two registrar that I know that you are allowed a grace period for deletion is Moniker and Dynanot. Both does not provide refund but credit for another domain.

Exactly what is said above. Find a registrar who will let you delete a name. Register it and then get an appraisal. Never post a name in public which you are thinking about regging - if it is any good, someone will take it before you. Good luck.

Hmm, well Moniker takes a fee of $0.25 so you can't delete the name and just buy a new one. The minimum amount to fund your account is $50, so you can't just add the 25 cents either...

Never used Dynadot, but if they don't charge a fee (unlikely) or let you fund your account in small amounts, just keep registering with that $8 until you find a gem.
