domain Help Please

I was offered a very good domain name but its a .ca - The dot com sold for over $500,000 though to a US business. Can somebody help me with a formula or approx as to what I should pay or if its not worth it at all.

Is The .com domain a trade mark? if so its not worth. Someone who spent that much to aquire would have Trademarked it, check that first. Then think if there is any potential in canda for that domain.

yes, if the domain name is mentioned, it might be much much much more easier...

we don't know if it is sony.ca or ibm.ca ... who knows what we are into... so might help if you can at least give the name or the best hint possible.
