Hi everyone, i would like to ask a few questions as i'm wanting to start webdesigning :

1) What kind of software do you mainly use to design and code?

2) What are the steps you take when you start designing?

3) What kind of coding languages are the best to learn?

Thanks
James

1) your software choice will depend on what type of site you're trying to make. ie, for interactive sites you would use flash.

2) determine what the purpose of the site is, then brainstorm layouts that satisfy all the objectives. ie, you might want a box for members to login, a block of space for updates, etc.

3) learn html first - it is essential to understand the basics. the latter languages will depend once again on what type of websites you want to design.

1) What kind of software do you mainly use to design and code?
There are several options. (Some of expensive of course). The most popular software is Dreamweaver most likely. However, there are a lot of people prefer to simple just use Notepad. Most people use Photoshop or other graphic softwares to make layout then slide them then use Dreamweaver to finish the work.

2) What are the steps you take when you start designing?
- Make of layout of how you want the layout to be look like. Normally I use to scratch them down on paper, then create them use Photoshop
- Use Photoshop to create the template
- Slide the templates and use Dreamweaver to finish the site contents

3) What kind of coding languages are the best to learn?
PHP is most of popular code languages. Though learn more won't hurt you :gl: HTML and CSS as well since it is most basic ones :gl:

P.S. This is just my own personal opinions. Though I don't do web design recently. Those experiences from are from a while ago :gl:

I started with DreamWeaver. I would recommend starting to learn to code HTML by hand and then moving on to learning CSS, PHP, MySQL, and AJAX (JavaScript)

First start with Frontpage. Read some e-books. Do some experiments. After you get hold of it, use advanced softwares like Dreamweaver etc....
