"What's in a name?....oh, everything!" This will most likely be the tagline for the website I'm planning to buy/sell 650 domain names I've purchased over the last 14 months.

Just an hour ago, I registered these two names to use for the name of my site, and while most of the Domain?????.com names were taken, these two were available;

DomainIPA.com
and
DomainAnomaly.com

Personally I think they're both pretty good names, where the "IPA" in the first name stands for "Inidia Pale Ale"...just kidding:xf.wink:...."Internet Protocol Address", and "Anomaly" in the second name stands for something different, out of the norm, or unusual.

While I can use both names for marketing with one pointing to the other, I'd appreciate any input. I promise not to argue with you if you would be so kind. In the month I've been here on NamePros I've unfortunately gained a reputation as a rogue domainer:xf.frown: Thanks for your help!

I don't think that most people use IPA, and when they do, they tend to be referring to the numeric address rather than the name. URL is far more common in my opinion,
Anomaly is a bit of a negative word, and may give people the wrong impression about your names. For example, one of my recent registrations was surogate.com, which is a popular mis-spelling of surrogate. I would think of that as a domain anomaly, and as such it has a much lower value.

Thanks, I sort of see IPAdress, URL, a Domain name as being pretty much synonymous? I just like the way "IPA" in all caps looks at the end of DomainIPA.com, and actually I don't think it's a bad thing that IPA is also a very recognizable beer type consumed all over the world...but what do I know?

And you're right...the word anomaly can be seen as either a good or bad thing. When you Google "anomaly", the very first definition from each source indicates "something different", different from the norm, or unusual.

I doubt we'll have a consensus here about either of these names because we're so close to the business. Before I make a decision, I'll run it by some of my peers and friends to see what they think. Thanks kuffy.

Please note, these names were not submitted for appraisal...however, they were submitted for discussion because they're names that I intend to use to develop a website for the sale of domains by me, and for others. Thanks for any input.
