Help! CSS drop down menus

I'm ultra-confused. I had created drop down menus using CSS a while back, using some tutorial which I don't remember where it was from. I had need to create drop down menus again, so I copied my old code and fixed the colors and links, but now, the "drop downs" don't work in IE!! The original site's drop down menus still work in IE, but even if I copy that site's code directly (just upload the files to the different server) those drop downs don't work in IE!! What could be the issue?? (Firefox works fine, or course...)

I'm very confused!!

Yeesh! This always happens! I pull my hair out and finally finally finally post my problem here only figure out the stupid simple easy solution right afterwards...

IE usually needs javascript, so if you forget the javascript file it won't work in PHP. Was that the problem?

needed the js for the li:hover to work.. had used an external js file and forgot to copy it over.
