I can't really think of any serious reason not to use your real name .. I use Ategy because I'm using Ategy.com for my market place .. but ironically enough I'm probably going to change that .. so might make my current user name obsolete! lol

greetings @Michael Murray and welcome to np. I think its professional to use your personal or business name on forums in which business is conducted. Not to say that known monikers arent. It just gives some credibility, a confidence to know who you are dealing with. In that regard, a system to authenticate identities would take things to another level of trust and professionalism.

^^A long answer for I see no negative to using your real name
Some professional communities even require it
