I recently found this forum when I was Googling for cheap domains. I'm hoping to get some of the free domains offered here
A little about me:
What’s your name?
A: Alex
Where do you live?
A: Somewhere in the known universe, aka Michigan.
What’s your level of expertise?
novice, intermediate, expert, etc.
A: Intermediate (at least with domains)
How much experience do you have in the domain industry?
years, experience, etc.
A: Around 1 and a half years, I started out with domains from Freenom. I
What would you like to specifically learn first?
how to buy a domain, domain history, best selling strategies, government policies, etc.
A: How to start a forum
Are you currently working on any projects or ideas?
A: I currently have a personal site at codeco.pw, and I'm working on a coding forum (will post here with updates). You can find a demo version of the forum at devf.codeco.pw
What are your short-term goals in the next year?
A: Get my coding forum finished
What are your long-term goals in the next 5 years?
A: Have a portfolio of at least 20 decent domains.
What was your first domain you purchased (for money)?
A: 1dev.space, it was supposed to be a tech blog but didn't turn out too well
The first free domain I got was pchope.tk (a tech support forum that also failed)
Why did you start investing in domains? Please tell us the story.
A: I first started because I REALLY wanted my own website, because it was sort of a status symbol. Sort of.
What domain tech do you most want evolved?
parking, marketplaces, news, analytics, registrars, etc.
A: REGISTRARS. They don't accept bitcoin, and many are very overpriced and "corrupt" if you will.
Do you have any predictions for coming trends?
A: At least one domain is going to burst (like .com)
What do you enjoy most about domaining?
A: Making content to put on a domain
Do you have any predictions for where the entire domain industry is going?
A: Lots of cheap, scammy domains like xyz.
What’s your funniest domain story?
A: When I first started pchope.tk, I didn't know about subdomains so I registered ~25 domains (pchopeforum.tk, pchopesupport.tk, etc etc etc) to handle specific functions of the site :P
What would you like to delegate most when you’re domaining?
parsing domains, monitoring auctions, data mining, etc.
A: No idea what that stuff is.
What significant industry changes have affected you?
A: The introduction of the cheaper ($7.50) domains like xyz and pw really helped me get started in the domain industry.
