Hello NamePros Community!

I'm DomainTitan, a new member based in Germany.

I'm currently learning about the domain industry, with a particular interest in domain brokerage, valuations, and connecting domain owners with potential buyers.

My goal is to build my knowledge, contribute to the community, and develop long-term professional relationships.

I'd love to learn from experienced members.

What advice would you give someone starting out in domain brokerage?

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Best regards,
DomainTitan

Welcome aboard!

A good place to start is understanding what drives domain value, what end users are looking for. e.g. short length, brandability, extension, etc. Lots of good info and discussions here on this forum, and I’d recommend checking out the domainsherpa podcast too.

But anyway, welcome to this board. I think you’ll get a lot of value from it

Thank you, DigitalGems! I really appreciate your advice and the DomainSherpa recommendation.

I'm currently learning domain valuation and researching potential end buyers.

My first goal is to successfully broker one domain sale and gain practical experience.

In your opinion, what's the best way for a beginner to find their first serious buyer?

Best regards,
DomainTitan

To be honest, outbound domain brokering isn’t my area of expertise, but I think it comes down to value for end users. Why should they buy it? e.g. much shorter, more memorable, more popular extension (like an upgrade to .com), etc. Find a way to get the end users value. Best of luck!

Thank you, DigitalGems! That's very helpful advice.

I'll focus on identifying the real value a domain can offer to potential buyers rather than simply trying to sell a name.

Since I'm just starting my journey in domain brokerage, I wanted to ask you a small favor.

Would you be willing to help or guide me through my first successful domain sale?

Even a little practical guidance, advice, or an introduction to someone experienced would mean a lot to me.

My goal is to complete my first deal, gain real experience, and build a long-term business in this industry.

I truly appreciate your time and support!

Best regards,
DomainTitan

A good place to start is with @Future Sensors topics here:
Then, you have some beginner resources here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/popular-domain-beginner-resources.844937/

Some from myself (A few of these are only accessible to VIP, Large Portfolio Holder, Pros and Gold subscription members)
Note: VIPs, Large Portfolio Holders, Pros and Gold subscription members have access to the professional appraisal section, where you can get some roadmap ideas by cherry picking some of the data in the in-depth evaluations on specific niche domains I do occasionally there. Some find value in the data and others ignore them. It's just another one of those preference in strategy things (Different for everyone).

And here's my currently updated analytical tool belt:
Again, welcome to Namepros, good luck and try not to get overwhelmed... Take you time... Don't rush it...

Do you have any sales experience? Domains are like any other sales job. You either have to outbound to find buyers or wait for the leads to come to you. In a way, it may be even more difficult. Domain names are harder to value. It's not like real estate or a car where there are a lot of established comps and retail prices. While there are limited comps for domains and sometimes even a history of the domain being sold before, those can also work against you.
