I am new here, and I loath myself because I didn't hear about Namepros until few days ago
This is the core of the World Wide Web!
I feel like a 3-year old kid in the middle of the Wall Street

I want to make a career in domaining, and my goal is very realistic - four or five low $xxx sales per month.
What do you think? Is that possible?

And...where to start? In what niche?

Regarding your question: I will have to say that it won't be easy ... but YES, it is definitely possible and domainers here are doing it every month, week, some even every day; with the enough amount of ambition you also will be one of them.

However, the first step you should take before doing anything is reading, reading and learning from it.
Meanwhile only focus/study on .com's (and maybe the country code extension from where you live) before getting irritated of thousands other extensions.

For any questions do not hesitate to ask, the community will be everytime there if you need help.
