I don't know .tv very well, so I can't offer you an opinion on value. However, it would be more proper to say "1080p hd" and not "hd 1080p". Curious to see what others say about this.
I suppose the next question will be how long before someone invents something that makes this look like last years technology? I think this has a Shelflife... and Im not sure .tv's growing value will translate in time on this domain...
It should stick at least 5-8 years at least. For now we have only 1080p tvs while broadcasted signal is barely 720p / 1080i and this is not going to change unless new satellites are launched to increase bandwidth. Of course bluray and HDDVD have 1080p output but I'm pretty confident about 1080p technology.
I would even say that future of TV is on the net. not on cable or satellite. Currently over 170% more people watch TV online than last year.
