I went to see the movie 300 yesterday with a friend from work. If you’ve been putting off seeing the movie thus far, here are 300 reasons you should go now to see 300. The Spartans kick some serious Persian butt.

Kudos to Gerard Butler and Lena Headey as King Leonidas and Queen Gorgo.

Note: this isn’t the trailer, but rather 300 seconds of a scene from within the movie (potential spoiler).

Watch 300 seconds of 300 as posted on YouTube by Atvaark:

I saw the movie and would just like to put a warning that it is a bit bloody. If you can handle some blood then this is a movie that you want to see. Everyone that I talked to that has seen that movie has only had positive things to say about it.

Actually, I think the violence was so stylistically and artistically done, you barely notice.. for me, the movie was so visually appealing, I never gave much thought to the violence and blood.

It isn't released yet here in the UK so no I haven't. I have already made plans with people to see it though, been looking forward to seeing it for a while now.

300 was a great and interesting movie. I learned about the Spartan civilization in the beginning of the movie (very interesting) and saw some spartan dominate the Persians, even though the Persians had many more in numbers. If you dont mind blood, I would highly recommend the movie.

300 was no doubt one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Definately recommended...

this movie has no epic scenes like Lord of the rings or Braveheart... 2% of the movie is close up shots of battles, and 98% is boring dialogue between actors...

i give two thumbs down.. waste of my money...

Great movie, except for the weird Gollum like character and the Persian God-King who sounded like Ra from the original StarGate movie. I only wish I would've seen it at IMAX.

I especially liked the way the Spartans fought as a team with their shields. They'd all crouch at the same time, then stand up, then jab with their spears, and then they were in a defensive position again before you even knew it.

I can't wait for the DVD, I've got an HD projector that's begging me to play it.

I will be honest, i hate American "history" films, they have nothing to do with the reality, and people tend to make conclusions after the film, and they think they were educated etc. But this is what hollywood can sell, sadly!!!!

Well, I definitely noticed the similarities between the movie and current times, but that's where it ended for me. I RECOGNIZED the similarities, but didn't let it affect my opinion on current events. I honestly just wanted to see an ancient war movie with swords, spears, and blood, and when I left the movie, that is all I thought about, (Ok, I also thought about how much I wanted to beat the crap out of the politician guy who looked like Mark Wahlberg).

I didn't find the dialogue boring at all.. and most often it what wasn't said that was important..

It was a great movie. The dialogue was bearable, it had a great storyline, and it was a thrill to watch. This... Is... SPARTA!!!.

uuummmm, this is HISTORY.
it is Greek History, and nothing to do with American History films.
the movie was superb IMO.

What we know now as Western Civilization was saved by these 300, which then enabled Greece to create Western Civilization, and not have a Great Persion Empire upon Europe, and eventualy the rest of the world.
