This is more of asking both an opinion and an appraisal so,

I was wondering what would be more appropriate for said domain (it's a .com):
look for buyers in the 3D printer business. Which means, keep it until 3D's get a higher value
or
looking for buyers in the pc hardware business. Which means, try to find a business related to computer hardware now
or
none of the above since domain has little value or it'd be very difficult to sell

an approximation to its potential value would also be helpful

The problem is the proper saying which is '3D Hardware', since you have it backwards I considered this as a backwards typo domain the value is low $x to low $xx. Good Luck
