I decided to finally start a tech-based guide blog. I always find myself undertaking all these random things and spend hours researching on how to get it done, until i find the best solution. i was thinking combining all of these tips and tricks for computers into a guidelike blog would be a cool idea, so here i am.

http://www.hacksar.com

please give me your honest opinions, not only on the design, etc, but also on the writing style, etc.

constructive criticism is appreciated, but incisive comments will be frowned upon.

thanks in advance!

I think the background is unique and catchy with the theme/slogan of branding that you want for Hacksar. I like the idea of showing unique computer tricks. I think you will have a lot of readers if you can just keep on posting computer tricks people can do.

With a Question of the month or something and you will answer them.

I think the article about bit torrent is bit boring.
The thing is as slow as snail pace and I think people who wants something really bad either download via rapid/mega/filesharing site or buy the software instead of downloading through the old boring bit stuff.

That's my review for your contents and what could be improve.

Thanks for your feedback, that's exactly what I needed!
I'll definately take your advice into consideration (primarily about the article writing). I have a tendency to drag out my writing pieces, so I'll definately focus on their brevity next time. Thanks!

I think, "Search" and "Skip to content" menu tabs above do the the same. They redirect user down to page.

You are welcome.

You might consider your audience more advance and have advance topics. Because most people in the US are advance users. (if they are the ages of 17+)

Actually I noticed that too - I may see if I can move the search box up top, or just remove the "skip to content" altogether - it seems kind of unnecessary.

I think occasionally I may write some more advanced articles, but my original purpose was to get the average teen up to par on what they can do - sure, many people know firefox exists and is a great browser, but only a select few people know what settings to change in about:config to make their browsing experience much faster, and things of that nature. this blog is basically for those who WANT to be what would be referred to as a "haxx0r" but don't have the know-how or time to figure it out.
