domain hackforums(dot)info

Hackforums was a forum set up for hacking and what not and had about 7000 members and 1,500,000 posts. In an ironic twist of fate the site was hacked and the admin, who was having trouble with paypal and could no longer make enough money from the site, decided that it was not worth it to rebuild.

Right now hackforums.net is up for auction at sedo and will be selling for at least $10,000 (I was a part of the community before it was taken down so we have all been talking about it).

hackforums.com is for sale at sedo for $6,500 (.net was the main domain)

I have hackforums.info and I'm wondering if it's worth anything. Any thoughts?

It's hard to say. I think you would be better off developing it first. The .info is definitely going to be worth significantly less than the .net and .com.

TBH I'm really not interested in developing it lol. It would be hard to develop an original site when I'm using the domain of a legend. I know it's not going to be worth as much as them because they have MAJOR traffic stats. Thanks for the feedback though.

Like I said, I'm not really interested in developing it. I don't know enough about the subject to make a site and there's already a lot of hacking forums out there. Hackforums.net was the biggest and it would just be stupid to try and develop another one with the same name. Especially when the site is being sold (the link in my earlier reply) so it will likely still be up.
