Some stories about hiring gurkhas:
Claudia Schiffer hires Gurkhas to stop stalkers
Claudia Schiffer has hired a team of ex-soldiers to protect her and her family from stalkers. The stunning German supermodel, who is married to film director Matthew Vaughn, has obtained the services of the former British service men - all previously members of the revered Nepalese Gurkha regiment - after being targeted by a host of crazed fans since relocating to the UK three years ago.
Schiffer and her husband, who have two children together, have endured a number of hate campaigns by bizarre fans, with two men - one Italian and one Canadian - being deported from Britain earlier this year after being found on the grounds of the couple's £5million mansion demanding to see the beautiful star. The couple are allegedly paying £1,000 a week for the services of the former soldiers to protect them from any future attacks.
According to a friend of the couple, the men have been hired to carry out domestic duties such as gardening and driving, but their main role is to "protect the family".
Vaughn is now rumoured to be urging friend and fellow film director Guy Ritchie and his wife Madonna to hire the Gurkhas as security guards as well.
Vaughn said: "The Gurkhas are among the most hard-working, loyal and skilled people I have ever come across. We are delighted to give them jobs."

Bus company hires Gurkhas
A Welsh bus company has solved its problem of finding drivers by recruiting 21 former Gurkhas who have seen active service with the British military in Kosovo, Iraq, Cyprus and Afghanistan.
The boss of Llanelli based 2Travel, Bev Fowles, got the idea of employing the Nepalese troops from an army friend who put her in touch with Bhim Rai, a Gurkha coming to the end of his 20 years' service.
Rai, 39, helped to hire another 20 former Gurkhas, and the men are now operating the company's 108 single-deck buses along country lanes in the west of Wales.
Some of them already had public service vehicle licences and we are training those who haven't, said Fowles. It's also very handy that they drive on the left in Nepal so they didn't have to make that adjustment.''
Rai is now traffic manager at the company's depot and has moved his family to Wales, where his son Jason, 14, and daughter Rebecca, 10, are at local schools.
He plans to return to Katmandu next month to recruit more drivers. The British army has long recruited the Nepalese troops who enjoy a reputation for loyality and ferocity in battle.
