Gun help please!

Hello,

I have found a shotgun in the cupboard! I dont know why it is there, how much it is worth, whether it is loaded or not. BUT my mum said not to go into the cupboard. trust me to go in there to see what the secret was about. I know about my mums anti-gun attitude. She said to me 'You have never had a toy gun' and 'One of my friends when i was young was shot in the eye'.

I am wondering why it is still here. We did have another gun, and when i touched it, me and my mum had an arguement. It is clear that she does not like guns, but what do i do about this?

Stay away from the gun. If you mess with it, and it hurts someone, both you and your mom would get in trouble with the law.

Call the police and ask how to handle this problem. Surely, they'd know.

If your mom said to stay away from it than do so. Your curiosity on this situation needs to be left alone. If anything discuss the matter with your mum at a time where your think wont cause to much friction or contention.

If she wont address the issue with you - than you need to leave it alone. Ask her later in life. She might tell you.

What if its an unlicensed gun? Then he just wrote his mom a jail sentence, and himself a ticket to the orphanage. Just leave the gun alone. :imho:

Right.

Legally you need to keep any shotguns in a metal box bolted to the wall.
And any cartridges etc.

Very true the least she can do is lock it up and store it properly. Maybe this is what you need to discuss.

Say hey mom, I know you said stay away from guns and not to touch any. Can I suggest you locking and storing the one you have properly.

Maybe your mother isnt fully aware of the law on storing guns.
