Hey folks,
on my long walk through the internet I found communities and ways to earn money online.
I always knew that some domains are more worth than others, even if I still dont know why anyone would pay $4000 for a single domain. ( I mean why should something like 6817.com be worth $40k ... the highest auction on godaddy right now) Now I guess it's my turn to have a look t the domain industry.
I hope to find some nice people here and hope that we all will have a good time together.

You've come in at a quirky time, domain names as the one you mentioned have been heating up for some time as China are buying like mad, and numbers have great meaning to them.

6817 is only 4 chars, but for $40k it must mean something significant

As @james haw says, you have come in a time when the numbers are ruling. Times change though, don't make a buy out on any domain you come across until you learn the trade well. Make sure to do some research on the name, similar sales made, learn about determining domain prices, domain value and many more topics. Keep reading, you may take a fall in your first few domains, but don't get disappointed jus keep moving forward
