GreatDomains.com - Please Post Accepted and Denied Names

One of my names, PinotGrigiot.us, was recently accepted by GreatDomains.com after having several names denied. I had a small thread going about this before, but I'd like to start a larger thread where everyone can post which names they've submitted to Great Domains and the outcome. This may help us get a better understanding of how they select names.

I'll update this list as people post their names.

I just faxed my acceptance letter to GD for VarietyShow.tv...Can't wait to see that one listed. TrafficReport.tv will follow shortly.

Well, I remember saying that the listing on GD was non-exclusive, that you could sell the name anywhere you want. Looks like they were wrong:

This is interesting Regfee because I asked the same question last week and this was the response I got:

"You are allowed to list your domain name(s) on other sites while you are listed with Great Domains.

I don't they are bothered about you "listing" it somewhere else.. the exclusivity term is with regard to actually having somebody PURCHASE it... they are the sole broker and as such they demand their 10% or $500 min..

so to recap - you can advertize all you want, but you're bound by exclusivity which means if you list w/sedo (aka accepting sedo as your broker) you'd be in deep trouble unless you convince the end-user to execute through GD....

I will have to read my contract over again, but I am pretty certain you can sell outside of GD and they do not get a cut. However, if the sale is made through GD, then they do get a cut.

Every one of the Domains submitted has been denied. So I literally cannot take them seriously, nor do I understand how/why anyone else does.

As far as I am concerned, they are a joke. They have a min of 10,000.00 but are accepting domains that are worth 5,000.00 and less.

But if they work for you, that's great.

GD is a unique bunch. They often accept domains you wouldn't think would go for more than low xxx and often deny domains worth x,xxx or higher. For instance, I just recently had vip.cc rejected from them. You can't tell me vip.cc wouldn't go for at least $5k even with the crummy extension. GD has vip.us listed at $50k!

well I bought ANT1.tv last night... there's a Greek channel which even broacasts in USA called ANT1 and they have ANT1.com redirect to ANTENNA.com antenna.tv was taken so will try my luck with that..

but back to GD - GD rejected it..

I've noticed that no matter haw many great names I send them they will only accept one out of the batch. After I realized this, I only send them one at a time and wont send another one until I've heard back about the first one.

I submitted 5 names and they rejected 4 right away and held onto the 5th one (VeganPlan.com) for over a week. I was expecting it to get accepted as this was the case with all the others I sent... rejections right away and acceptance several days later. Then I submitted Stereos.tv before hearing back, and within 1-2 hours I received a rejection for VeganPlan.com and an acceptance for Stereos.tv??
