it definately paints an 'odd' picture of people in this business.
Yet, this is one of the least insulting ones, that dont mention rolexes and women on each side.
I actually think this article is favorable.

Thanks for the link Namewaiter. Decent article. I don't see it as being negative or positve towards DNers. I do think articles like this one are good however because it opens peoples eyes to the DN business, which IMO, is never bad.

That's unfortunately the picture many people I meet offline have about domaining: registering trademarked domains and then trying to sell them to the trademark holder. (!)

I'm trying to change this image so I'm collecting favorable (or at least objective) articles from mainstream media sources.

But Strickland believed that one good domain name would minimize her advertising costs, "and it has," she said. Not only do customers searching for multiple listing services in her area come across her Web site, but many type the url directly into the address bar.

"I have had a tremendous amount of success and I think it was worth every cent," Strickland said.

Many people believe that the value of domain names - much like real estate - will keep rising. A great domain name is a lot like a waterfront home, Collins said: It will always be worth more because of the desirable location.

Great brokered acquisition, IMHO ... MLS websites - and related, localized search requests - are poised for tremendous growth over the next several years! :tu: :imho:
