I think i know what most of you will say: court / lawsuit / trademark etc

but... I did some sniffing and with a bit of "googlery" I found there were a good few sites out there with "google" in the names and there were no mention of lawsuits. They all however did have a disclaimer at the bottom of their pages saying they were not affiliated with google.

so... what you think guys?

Zero. IMO.

You need help. This registration compulsion comes from the hidden encrypted messages beamed through your computer monitor by the madman Bob Parsons. These messages which are indiscernible without special infrared reading glasses are saying, "donate your money to the man, donate your money to the man".

You must train yourself to tune out these messages and only register domain names that are worth $xxx and up.

As you mention these domains could potentially result in legal issues and someone spending a lot of money on a domain will probably not take that chance.

Anyway not considering the legal issues at all I don't see any value in the domains. Do you have any specific ideas for the domains?

Geez. You knew that, but still registered them? Not too bright IMO.

If you are determined to waste your money then no one can stop you. Your logic is flawed. If some people are doing illegal things and have not been caught yet, that doesn’t mean you are allowed to do the same.

Well, then see this list: UDRPsearch - Search WIPO and NAF UDRP cases which will detail many, many UDRP cases where Google got a domain after a UDRP filing. It just happens to be cheaper for them to go that route than file lawsuits every day for the latest TM domain.

Hell, I'm the guy who registered googlestatistics.com just over a month ago. If you were going to infringe on a trademark, at least do it right. Who searches googlary? wtf

Weird thing on trademarks. I developed OnLiveDream.com when the new game console, OnLive was unveiled this summer. They emailed me telling me they enjoy my site and podcast show lol.. Trademarks like the publicity sometimes.. (very rare?)

If googlery.com is the BEST name u can think of, maybe crochet is the hobby you should pursue.
If you wish to stay with domaining Read, listen, learn from namepros for about 3 months and only then register names

I get it guys! I have contacted my provider and have requested a cancelation for both of the domain names. My intentions with the domains were for an idea I had. I wanted to put a blog/diary together based on my daily use of google and the funny things I found etc...

I shouldnt have posted them here for appraisal in the first place. Anyway, never mind. As for your reactions, they were quite humorous and entertaining :) I would almost register another useless domain name and post it here for entertainment purposes but you are right to advise me not to waste my money and learn more.

I wonder if crochet.com is available :D

Absolutely worthless. Plus it also might incur in TM infringement.

It's actually nice to see someone take the advice on board. Kudos to you for that.

Yes..some of the replies can be a bit biting and some just plain funny. Just remember that most memebers that post those comments are only trying to steer you in the right direction.

At least you got it. :)

Haha I didn't take any of your advice when I came here asking bout my Google Statistics | Google is a whole other site. Our job is to simply provide statistics and entertainment. I already made about $300 from it selling my ebook lol.. More would be nice though.

I'm glad that worked out for you. It doesn't for a lot of people and it's no guarantee that Google won't turn around and bitch slap you later on down the line. :)

What Google giveth, Google taketh away.
